Google Earth and Mountaineering

Hey Guys!

So I've been doing a lot of research on the route that I will be taking up Mt. Shasta this June. I ended up using a description I found of the route online, and made a rough route of it on google earth. It turned out a little shaky, but it gives you a little bit of an idea of the climb. Enjoy!

Here is the latest Mt Shasta update taken from http://shastaguides.com/climbs/

Update January 27, 2016 Mt. Shasta’s current snow pack is measuring 119″. We are at 101% of normal for the water year and 200% of normal in January with another pineapple express aimed at us starting Thursday. With close to 10′ of snow measured at 8,000′ the conditions have been the best in years for backcountry skiing and snowboarding on Mt. Shasta. Climbers will be challenged by deep, unconsolodated snow and stormy weather.  Check the Mt. Shasta Avalanche Center Avalanche Bulletin for daily information. The 2016 season is looking to be excellent with a healthy snowpack predicted, time to start planning your climb or ski, hope to see you on the mountain!
